Believers Stand United Response Team

BSU Partners Again With the American Family Association

October 26, 2009

Dear BSU Partners and Friends,

It is a joy for all of us at Believers Stand United that we have Partners who transcend denominations and church affiliations. Our team has members from literally every denomination, including nondenominational and independent churches. The common threads that unite us are our belief that Jesus is Lord and that religious freedom must be kept, protected and in many cases fought for in our nation today.

In addition, we have partnerships with other groups and organizations that stand for religious freedom and justice, including the American Center for Law and Justice with our friend, Jay Sekulow and the American Family Association with our friend Dr. Don Wildmon. It is clear to us that as we partner together we can all be more effective.

We are happy again this year to partner with the Wildmon family and the AFA to promote an idea that is central to all Christians—Christmas. I know it’s difficult to believe that there is an assault on the idea of wishing others a "Merry Christmas." Is that possible in 21st century America? Indeed it is, and together we can stand up for the Lord Jesus Christ by stating clearly, firmly and passionately that we must keep Christ in Christmas and saying "Merry Christmas" is very much a part of free speech.

One way we can help is to not only share the message of Christmas in what we say, but also in what we do. You’ve heard that phrase, "I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day." Be sure to live your faith in such a way that others are drawn to ask, "What is it I see in you?" Then you can respond, "It’s the peace, joy, love, forgiveness and grace of the Lord Jesus." Another way you can overtly make a loving statement of faith this Christmas season is to wear a sticker or button, or put a decal on your car that reads, "God’s Gift…Merry Christmas."

For a little more than a dollar a sticker you can help make this statement. We don’t receive a dime of the proceeds from these stickers and decals, we simply believe in the message and are happy to support our friends at AFA again this year as we did last year.

Be sure to click here to get your sticker, button or decal. And most importantly be sure to let people know the reason that Christmas is Merry—the reason, of course, is our Lord Jesus! The POWER that is in Him is the same power in you! Let’s proclaim this to everyone we meet and remember…JESUS IS LORD!!
