The Bible and Our Military
Dear Partners,
We have just learned that due to a complaint by the "Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers," the Air Force Services Operations have agreed in principle to remove the requirement for Bibles to be placed in base lodging by the Gideons. This follows a recent decision by the U.S. Air Force to remove the recommendation for young officers to "attend Chapel regularly" from the training manual during Squadron Officers School.
American Christians have too long kept silent and allowed a very small minority of atheists to dictate policy under the intimidation and threat of "lawsuits." The First Amendment is still an important part of our nation's fabric and together we must stand up and speak out for freedom of faith and Christianity.
Below you will find direct links to the Deputy Information Officer of the U.S. Air Force based at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., as well as a direct link to send an email to the Public Affairs Department of Warner Robbins Air Force Base, where this issue began.
Contact both today and let them know you are standing up and speaking out for the freedom of men and women of the Air Force to have the Bible placed and readily available in base lodging across America and around the world. It is crucial that we make a bold statement with as many calls and emails as possible. Join me....let's do it now.
